The following information is overview of the RSK examination structure, other international examinations, and how they relate to the Kenya Amateur License provided by the Communications Authority of Kenya.

Questions remain as the viability of the HAREC issued by the RSGB considering that the UK has left the EU and this license is covered under the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (cEPT). This implies that UK/RSGB will not be able to offer this exam going forward as they are not a partner to the agreement.
The US ARRL examination however is recognised under the International Amateur Radio Permit (IARP) and offers greater international opportunities. See ARRL FAQ. Additionally RSK members who pass the exam will have two (2) licenses and callsigns, one each for Kenya and the US.

There will be a local exam and information regarding the Band Plans as per Region 1 regulations. The local exam will consist of the Rules and Regulations from the Communications Authority.
